Are you ready for the 2026 CRRU changes? Here is how to stay compliant with Rodenticide Rules
From the 1st of January 2026 new rules will come into effect from the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) that will impact anyone who uses or buys professional-use rodenticides.

What’s changing in 2026?
Under the revised CRRU UK stewardship framework, anyone using professional rodenticides will be required to show proof of an up-to-date certificate or membership in a recognised CPD scheme.
- If you have never completed a CRRU recognised qualification, you will need to get one before using or purchasing rodenticide from Jan 26 onwards.
- If you have a qualification that is over five years old, you will need to recertify or join an approved CPD scheme.
Who will be affected?
If you are involved in pest control, farming, facilities management, food production, waste management or local authority services, now is the time to make sure you are prepared and in the know. Many sectors rely on rodenticide use and will need staff to be compliant with the new regulations.
